Presence at architectural scale
Luma is designed for live or recorded people and content at a scale that reads across a venue. Proto's own guide describes an indoor device integrated with its cloud, studio and content tools. Its size, weight and power needs make planning part of the product decision.
The right question is not whether the effect attracts attention—it usually will—but whether the organization has enough valuable use cases to justify logistics, content production and support.
Operational checklist
Confirm floor loading, access routes, transport case dimensions, power, wired networking, stage lighting, capture equipment and on-site technical responsibility. For live beaming, test the full connection between the sending studio and the venue rather than relying on a speed-test screenshot.
Request clarity on subscriptions, warranty response, spare parts, operator training, data handling and the failure mode if connectivity drops during a live session.
A rational business case
Luma makes most sense for organizations that repeatedly bring scarce people, experts or characters into many locations: executive communication, education, hospitality, healthcare demonstrations and touring experiences.
Calculate value per deployment over a realistic usage schedule. A prestigious device used twice a year can be weaker than a rented system supported by an experienced production team.
