XREAL AURA starts at $1,279 as full-payment preorders open
XREAL's October 7 pricing update puts AURA at $1,279 for 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage, or $1,499 for 16GB and 512GB. Its official US store describes a full-payment preorder for AURA Pass holders; anticipated holiday shipping is not confirmation that deliveries have begun.
Confirmed facts
Two configurations and a separate reservation route
XREAL's official AURA page lists both configurations in US dollars and names the United States, Canada, Japan and South Korea as initial markets. The US store asks existing AURA Pass holders to sign in with the account linked to their pass before purchasing. Taxes are determined at checkout.
People without a pass are directed to a separate $199 priority deposit. That reservation route should not be confused with the full product price or an immediately available retail order. Buyers should check the applicable redemption and cancellation terms before committing funds.
The computing hardware travels with the glasses
AURA runs Android XR with a wired companion unit called the Puck. XREAL says that unit contains processing, connectivity, battery and a touchpad. The listed package includes the glasses and Puck, a carrying case, USB-C cable, nose pads and a prescription lens frame.
The manufacturer promotes a spatial workspace, Android applications and Gemini assistance. These are announced capabilities rather than HoloNexa test results. A prescription frame alone does not establish that finished corrective lenses are included.
Shipping remains a forecast
The store expects shipping before the holidays, but explicitly makes timing dependent on production, inspections and logistics. It gives no fixed delivery date for every customer and says other regions' launch dates remain unconfirmed.
The new ordering stage therefore does not establish general availability. HoloNexa has not tested a retail unit, measured comfort or battery endurance, or independently assessed application compatibility. The practical benefit of the higher-memory configuration also needs workload-specific evidence.
Why it matters · Analysis
Published prices make AURA's total entry cost easier to assess than a reservation deposit alone. Moving to full-payment preorders is a commercial milestone, but reliable fulfillment and useful software will determine its value. Buyers should weigh the companion unit, regional support and uncertain delivery timing alongside the promise of a portable workspace.
