Confirmed facts

Price, availability and connectivity

The official US product page lists SPECS from $2,195. Snap says preorders are available in the United States, United Kingdom and France, with shipping expected to start in fall 2026. A preorder reserves a place; the company's FAQ says the deposit is not an order confirmation.

The standard configuration uses Wi-Fi. Adding the Wi-Fi and cellular option costs $200 and includes a 5G-capable charging case; US cellular service requires a separate Verizon plan. Local prices, service terms and availability can differ by market.

Display, controls and physical design

Snap specifies a transparent waveguide display with 16 million colors and a 51-degree field of view. Electrochromic lenses can change between clear and tinted states, while voice and hand gestures provide controller-free input. The frame uses two Snapdragon processors and weighs 132 grams in the 47 mm size or 136 grams in the 52 mm size.

The company presents SPECS as a standalone spatial computer for navigation, translation, calls, media, virtual screens and shared Lenses. A magnetic connection also supports charging or a USB-C streaming cable for compatible phones, computers and gaming devices. These capabilities are manufacturer descriptions, not independent HoloNexa testing.

AI, privacy and practical limits

SPECS Intelligence is described as an assistant that can connect context across applications and suggest next actions. Snap says actions require user approval and highlights on-device processing and a visible recording light, but buyers should still review camera, microphone, account and third-party permission policies before connecting personal data.

Important details remain incomplete on the product page, including a numerical battery-life claim and a complete compatibility matrix. Prescription inserts are planned through third-party partners for single-vision prescriptions from -8 to +2 diopters. The virtual fit tool requires an iPhone XS or newer running iOS 18 or later.

Why it matters · Analysis

SPECS moves Snap's see-through AR platform from developer-oriented demonstrations toward a priced consumer preorder. Its wide field of view and standalone functions are notable, but the $2,195 starting price, 132-136 gram weight, regional availability and undisclosed numerical battery life make it an early-adopter product rather than evidence that everyday AR glasses have reached the mass market.
